Your future new neighbors in Alexandria.

Your future new neighbors in Alexandria.

Yup, that’s right.  Obama’s closing Guantanamo means that we’re going to get some new neighbors here in the 8th in Alexandria, where some Gitmo detainees apparently will be transferred to the prison there.  Never mind that that’ll make Alexandria  a target if someone wants to spring these guys.  And never mind that these guys were the folks the Pentagon and intelligence community deemed too dangerous to let go — after several reports that the guys we did let go went right back to the jihad battlefield.

This is nuts.  I know the liberals like to preen and exhibit their moral vanity about the treatment of the Gitmo prisoners.  I happen to think the whole Guantanamo issue was mostly just another club with which to beat George Bush over the head.  But now that they’re in power, the Democrats now have to make good on their foreign policy inanities.  So, while you say hello to new Russian aggression, North Korean missile launches, Iranian intransigence over their nuclear program, US participation in the UN Human Rights Council, and European allies that are about to pull out of Afghanistan, you can also say hello to your new Gitmo neighbor down the street.

Are you outraged?  Contact Congressman Moran and tell him you’d rather not have terrorists intent on destroying America living down the street in Old Town.  And hold every Democrat running for City Council and Delegate this year accountable for this absolute affront to the safety of the citizens of Alexandria and the 8th District.
